French Provincial Kitchen Table

This table was for a repeat customer who wanted a custom table for her recently renovated kitchen. She requested a classic design that would complement the elegance of her new kitchen. After several iterations we settled on a design inspired by the rustic kitchen tables found in provincial French farmhouses. The design of this table is more refined but still maintains the visual weight and presence of the traditional tables.

The legs were cut from a single 4” thick piece of cherry and hand turned on the lathe to the custom pattern chosen by the client. The top is solid 1 1/2” cherry giving the table both a visual and physical weight helping to anchor it in the space. A concealed drawer in the apron provided much needed storage for placemats without cluttering up the design or distracting from the natural beauty of the wood.
